Aromatherapy is based on the use of concentrated essential plant
oils. It is a complementary therapy that involves using essential
oils therapeutically. Plant oils have been used for therapy and cosmetics
for thousands of years, and has been dated back to ancient Egypt,
India and China. |
|
| |
Aromatherapy can be defined as the controlled use of essential
oils to maintain and promote physical and psychological wellbeing.
The application of essential oils through massage is a method that
is enhanced by the physiological benefits of massage itself. Its
ability to improve nervous conductivity helps increase vital energy. |
|
| |
The use of aromatherapy oils with massage is very helpful for the
relief of stress, anxiety, nervous tension and muscular fatigue.
During an aromatherapy massage, the aromatic molecules of an essential
oil exert an influence both through inhalation and smell, and through
skin absorption. |
|
| |
Essential oils can be used with massage, inhalation, compresses,
baths and pre-blended creams and lotions. |
